The largest bribe in Belarus amounted to $1 million last year, reported the Investigative Committee of Belarus.

It was not specified in which corruption case such amount of the bribe appeared.

We remind that yesterday the Investigative Committee announced about the investigation of a criminal case against officials of "Gazprom Transgaz Belarus," which concerned bribes of hundreds of thousands of rubles.

It became known that similar charges were brought against the officials of the Belarusian Railway.

"We have a number of other criminal cases, quite significant. It's not appropriate to speak about them now and it's not in the interests of the investigation to voice all the details," said the IC representative.

He added that in some cases, initiated against "the top companies, including our flagships," the size of the bribes amount to "millions of dollars".

According to the data of the Investigative Committee, voiced at a press conference "On measures to combat crime and corruption in Belarus," the total damage from corruption offenses in the first half of 2022 amounted to more than Br9 million.
