Metropolitan Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz's Health Worsens

A prayer for his healing will be held in Minsk.
On 10 March, it became known about the significant deterioration of health of 79-year-old Metropolitan Emeritus of Minsk-Mahiliou Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, suffering from cancer (melanoma), reported the Minsk-Mahiliou Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus.
It has invited the faithful to pray for the healing of Pope Francis and Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, who has been in the hospital since 14 February. The Mass will be held at 15:00 on 13 March, the 12th anniversary of Francis' election, at the Archdiocesan Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Minsk on Freedom Square. Archbishop Jozef Staniewski, the current Metropolitan of Minsk and Mahiliou, will lead the service.
The 88-year-old Pope Francis has also been in hospital in serious condition since 14 February.
Kondrusiewicz has headed the archdiocese of Minsk and Mahiliou since 2007, and has been chairman of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Belarus since mid-2015. Pope Francis accepted the hierarch's resignation on the day of his 75th anniversary, 3 January 2021.
